- Set up CNC turning machines in accordance with job specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
- Select, load, and adjust tooling, offsets, and fixtures to ensure accurate and efficient machining.
- Perform first-off inspections and ensure components meet required tolerances before handing over to operators.
- Collaborate with the programming team and production supervisor to optimize setups and reduce changeover times.
- Diagnose and resolve setup-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Monitor machine performance during setup to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintain setup documentation and support continuous improvement of setup procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety practices and company policies.
- Assist in training and mentoring machine operators on safe and correct machine usage.
- Participate in daily production meetings and feedback loops to improve workflow and output.
- Strong understanding of CNC turning principles, tooling, and machining practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers).
- Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
- Good problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward quality and productivity.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
