- Provide leadership and direction to the site contractor safety coordinator team, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the organisation's safety goals and objectives.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for construction HSE documents and standards adapting to regulatory requirements in conjunction with industry and corporate standards
- Deliver direction and governance for a number of HSE Programmes, including project supervisor design process, project supervisor construction stage, and the maintenance department on site.
- Identify potential safety hazards and risks on construction sites and develop proactive strategies to mitigate these risks. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Be a technical expert for the LIFE Programs/Risks applicable to the projects.
- Have working knowledge in Environmental Programs applicable to the Construction Industry
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained in safety procedures and protocols.
- Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed records of all safety incidents and corrective measures taken.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety across all construction activities. Ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices in construction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
