- Producing monthly management accounts for review and consolidation
- Preparing and posting prepayment & accrual journals on Sage.
- Assisting with monthly stock reconcilation and cost analysis vs budget.
- Balance sheet reconciliations including Intercompany balances.
- Assist the financial controller with ad hoc reporting and dealing with queries from the operations team.
- Preparation of VAT returns (UK & Ireland), Intrastat, Payroll returns and CSO reporting
- Liaising with Auditors
- Assist the financial controller with ad hoc projects designed to improve internal controls
- Providing cover and answering queries for AP AR and Payroll
- Provide cover/back up for the financial controller as required eg holiday cover.
- IT proficiency – excellent knowledge of Microsoft in particular Excel.
- IT proficiency – Working knowledge of sage software and advantage but not required
- Relevant qualification –qualified accountant or an accountant who is qualified by experience to produce management accounts.
- Strong clear communication skills, questioning and probing to ensure full understanding of all tasks and details and communicating back the information to the various stakeholders.
- Positive can-do attitude with ability to multi task.
- Excellent time management skills, organizing workload and priorities to ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timelines.
- Team player -flexible with regards to business needs and month end.
- Deliver a high quality of work -strong attention to detail, taking care to ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Must always show discretion with confidential/sensitive information.
