- Provide professional, cost-effective electrical engineering expertise across the renewable energy business unit, with a focus on transmission system connections in Ireland.
- Lead the delivery of grid-related projects, managing interactions with System Operators, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure works are completed on time, on budget, and in compliance with statutory safety regulations.
- Coordinate grid energisations, construction-related grid works, and grid code compliance testing for renewable projects.
- Manage engineering and optioneering processes to determine the most commercially viable grid connection solutions, including technical analysis of power flows, capacity, constraints, and curtailment.
- Monitor and apply updates to the Grid Code, System Operator requirements, and connection policies to ensure smooth project delivery through to operational certification.
- Oversee technical projects through all stages of the lifecycle, from tender preparation and contract management to construction oversight and commissioning.
- Review and validate third-party electrical designs for HV substations, underground cables, and overhead line infrastructure.
- Manage project risks, monitor progress against plans, and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure all works are compliant with Health & Safety legislation, with safety considerations embedded in design, construction, testing, and operation.
- Honours degree (Level 8) in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience working on transmission-level grid connections in Ireland.
- Proven background in the design, planning, and specification of transmission-scale electrical installations.
- Hands-on experience in early-stage development and optioneering of grid connection solutions for renewable projects.
- Strong technical expertise in HV electrical design and consenting for 110kV, 220kV, and 400kV infrastructure.
- Skilled in reviewing and validating external designs, with an understanding of associated project, contract, and financial management processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with knowledge of EPLAN, PSS®E, and DIgSILENT considered an advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence.
