About The RoleAre you an Ecologist and looking for an opportunity to step up and take on more responsibility? Fancy the flexibility to work from home or an office and the opportunity to get out in the field?We are actively seeking a Senior Terrestrial Ecologist to join our existing Irish ecology team in Cork. In this crucial role, you'll be working with our experienced team on all aspects of the consultancy process (from tender preparation, through fieldwork, to high quality scientific reporting and sign-off) on a range of project across Ireland. Along with our focus on growth and development within a close-knit, dynamic and fast-moving division of a rapidly growing ecological consulting business, this makes APEM Ireland a great place to take the next step in your career.To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in an environmental or ecological subject
  • Clean, full driving licence
  • Willing and able to time away from home (travel to and from sites with overnight stays)
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Flexible, adaptable and punctual
  • Specific knowledge of and work on terrestrial species, such as otter, bats, badgers, overwintering, breeding and nesting birds and other protected species
