- Communicate findings clearly and empathetically with clients.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by delivering accurate, accessible advice.
- Support trust-building and uphold the company's reputation through professionalism.
- Produce high-quality reports and certificates using specialised software.
- Issue documents required for conveyancing processes.
- Ensure work aligns with current legislation, standards, and guidance.
- Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Work with estate agents, solicitors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Provide input to management, marketing, and sales on service development.
- Offer constructive feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Monitor construction and renovation works for quality and compliance.
- Uphold ethical standards and promote a culture of learning.
- Maintain high levels of independence on-site while working cohesively with wider teams.
- Review the work schedule issued the previous evening.
- Clarify any queries about assignments as soon as the schedule is received.
- Confirm site locations using GPS.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are functional and ready the day before inspection.
- Maintain professional appearance in line with the dress code.
- Arrive on site at least five minutes early.
- Review client notes and concerns before commencing the inspection.
- Conduct the survey thoroughly while avoiding disturbance or damage.
- Communicate initial findings to the client after the visit.
- Upload the draft report for peer review promptly post-survey.
- Ensure reports undergo review prior to final release.
- Submit finalised reports within three days of the inspection.
- Provide certificates required under building control legislation when necessary.
- Respond to email and telephone queries within 72 hours.
- Participate in design, client, or site meetings when required.
- Work with architects, engineers, and CAD technicians to support accurate design outputs.
- Prepare specifications, risk assessments, and defect analyses.
- Oversee remedial works and produce costings reports where needed.
- Undertake tasks assigned by the manager or director that fall outside the above duties.
- Hold Chartered Surveyor status through RICS.
