Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team in Dublin.This is a high-impact role offering real career progression, visibility at senior level, and the opportunity to work on some of Ireland’s most prestigious projects.You will join a forward‑thinking main contractor known for its commitment to quality, innovation, sustainability, and collaborative project delivery. This position offers exposure to complex, high‑value builds and the chance to influence commercial strategy while mentoring and developing junior QS team members.As Senior QS, you will take ownership of the financial, contractual, and commercial management of major projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will play a key role in driving cost efficiency, supplier management, and commercial risk mitigation across the project lifecycle.Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Full commercial and contractual management of assigned projects.
- Leading the subcontractor procurement process and ensuring timely and accurate tendering.
- Preparing trade budgets, cost plans, and detailed cost analysis for all project packages.
- Negotiating with subcontractors to secure best-value packages.
- Managing subcontractor appointments, accounts, and payment cycles.
- Preparing cash flow forecasts, interim valuations, and monthly cost reports.
- Change management, including variation assessments and agreement of final accounts with the PQS.
- Providing leadership, coaching, and support to junior QS team members.
- Working closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial monitoring and reporting.
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5+ years in a Senior QS role and approx. 10 years industry experience.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record on complex, large-scale projects.
- Experience in cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and risk management.
- The ability to mentor junior staff and foster a culture of learning.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- A proactive and self‑driven approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
