- The MDT Pathway Coordinator is responsible to ensure the effective coordination of the Breast Programme Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) service at Blackrock Clinic. This role supports accurate tracking of patient journeys, organisation of MDT meetings, compliance with NCCP and other regulatory and accreditation standards, and smooth communication between clinical teams.
- The post-holder provides essential operational support to the Histopathology Department, and may also assist other MDTs as required by Blackrock Health.
- Have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in a hospital setting.
- Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role or equivalent in a healthcare organisation
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
- High accuracy with data and documentation.
- Competent IT and digital platform skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- MDT or cancer pathway experience desirable.
- Assist in developing early MDT processes, documentation templates, SOPs, and workflow standards.
- Set up MDT schedules, digital platforms, meeting templates, and information-sharing pathways.
- Schedule and organise MDT meetings, circulate case lists, and ensure all relevant information is available in a timely manner.
- Liaise closely with radiology, pathology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, and nursing teams to ensure complete case preparation.
- Record MDT discussions and ensure all minutes of the MDT discussions and outcomes are reflected within the patient records accurately and within a timely manner.
- Disseminate decisions and MDT patient outcomes to the relevant teams within a timely manner.
- Facilitate virtual, hybrid, or in-person MDT formats. Prioritise in-person MDT meeting formats.
- Monitor MDT member attendance and ensure this is communicated to the chair on a quarterly basis.
