
CAD Drawing Office Manager

- Supervise and mentor CAD technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and performance
- Manage project timelines, allocate resources, and track progress
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Develop team capabilities through training and professional development opportunities
- Be the point of contact for preparation of Audit packs for Regulatory inspections.
- Support drawing reviews and onsite walkdowns
- Facilitate workshops with area owners for layout changes
- Provide oversight on sites standardized tagging process
- Maintain corporate CAD standards, procedures, and global best practices
- Ensure timely adherence to change control processes on site
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations (FDA, EMA, etc.) and company SOPs
- Manage and organize drawing files and documentation using GDMS system
- Maintain a robust drawing management system (e.g., Vault, Smartsheet, Teams, GDMS)
- Demonstrate proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Plant 3D)
- Provide technical guidance and support to the drafting team
- Review and approve technical drawings and documentation
- Develop expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) platforms and methodologies
- Oversee integration between CAD systems and other technical platforms (e.g., Maximo)
- Manage CAD projects from project pack issue to return, ensuring effective compliance with CAD standards
- Establish relationships and workflows for receiving, processing, and validating drawings from project managers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (projects, engineering, manufacturing, validation, quality)
- Coordinate drawing requests and prioritize workload to meet critical timelines
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
- Identify and resolve drawing-related issues promptly
- Ensure all documentation meets GMP requirements and supports regulatory compliance
- Assist in the update of client documentation and create mark-ups
- Provide peer checking approvals and technical guidance for red-lined as-built documentation
- Coordinate with project managers for right-first-time handover of documentation
- Establish processes for drawing creation, modification, review, approval, and archiving
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related technical field
- 7+ years of CAD and BIM experience with at least 3 years in a management role
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments
- Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD (5+ years’ experience)
- Proven experience with Revit & Navisworks (3+ years’ experience)
- Experience with Autodesk, Vault and other Cloud platforms
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, preferably Maximo
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain technical standards
- Experience with documentation for GMP cleanroom environments and classified spaces
- Strong technical drawing literacy and attention to detail
- Excellent project management and organizational capabilities
- Effective communication skills for working with stakeholders across technical departments
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to improve processes
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership skills to guide drawing office staff and influence documentation practices
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office suite
