- End to end accountability for delivery change across systems and processes
- Leading, managing and co-ordinating the delivery of a broad range of projects in support of our IT transformation and business strategy including digital solutions, data analytics, cloud-based developments, control centre tools and market and energy management system evolution
- Promoting a user-centred design approach to the development and implementation of projects and services
- Liaising with the business to understand stakeholder needs; guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy
- Partnering with the business to ensure that business benefits are realised
- Developing and implementing procedures and documentation to maximise the effectiveness and quality of working practices
- Assisting the business in determining project objectives and outlines project requirements
- Tracking and reporting on project progress against the project plan; Tracking and reporting on project risks and issues
- Engaging with stakeholders including government departments, regulator and market participants
- Preparing reports and presentations at a strategic and operational level to engage key management and business stakeholders on the progress of the project
- Managing a substantial project budget and updating forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
- Co-ordinating project resources across several multidisciplinary functions, resolving conflicts and removing blockage
- Managing and reviewing the service delivery of external vendors. Ensuring that the governance of the project is exemplary, including risk management, stakeholder communications, project schedules and cost management; producing, managing and coordinating all relevant documentation to the highest standards.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, at least 5 years post qualifying experience
- Relevant Project Management certification (Prince2 Certified or related Project Management methodology
- Strong project management skills, and experience in operating and maintaining a system of project controls, in a project management environment
- Extensive experience of managing a broad range of projects including software and infrastructure elements
- Extensive decision making and an ability to prioritise conflicting deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive technical and analytical skills with the ability to operate in a large complex environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team;
- Proven experience in risk and change management;
