
Commercial Director - Construction Delivery Interface

- Develop and implement commercial strategies to enhance delivery operations and achieve business objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for commercial matters between delivery teams and business stakeholders.
- Lead a team of delivery commercial Interface Managers.
- Monitor the completion of projects and implement effective and rigorous project evaluation methodologies to inform future planning.
- Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of delivery-related relevant contracts and agreements.
- Manage relevant budgets and financial forecasts related to delivery operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance to senior management.
- Assist with the planning, development, commissioning, and implementation of any future commercial interface management systems.
- Support the development and maintenance of plans, management controls, information processes and systems to support the timely delivery of all delivery commercial interface activities.
- Accommodate change while maintaining programme and achieving project objectives.
- Understand and communicate complex technical and commercial issues to the satisfaction of key stakeholders.
- Provide strategic input into commercial interface management to maximise efficiencies in the delivery and operations of the projects, resolving issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner.
- Plan and manage the resourcing of the delivery commercial interface team, developing a pro-active and positive culture.
- Support the delivery director by guiding a dynamic and challenging interface programme, ensuring alignment with MetroLink objectives.
- Address significant challenges within the ongoing interface programme, providing solutions and strategic guidance.
- Coordinate interactions between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and the achievement of shared goals.
- Lead all risk activities related to interfaces, implementing mitigation strategies and offering expert advice to senior management.
- Ensure the seamless integration of work performed by various contractors, preventing gaps or overlaps that could lead to delays or cost overruns.
- Lead the continuous monitoring of interface activities, oversee status reporting, and manage the prompt resolution of any issues to ensure successful project delivery.
- Perform additional tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the role.

- 15+ years' commercial and contract management experience within construction / civil engineering, with 3+ years in a similar leadership role.
- Experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies, managing contracts, and negotiating agreements.
- Experience in managing delivery processes, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong project management skills to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of the project.
- Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with interfaces.
- Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to individuals and groups - both technical and non-technical.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
- Ability to develop successful commercial relationships that have benefitted programme performance and delivery metrics.
- Strong ability to write, document, and maintain technical standards, guidelines, and workflows.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex information management concepts into clear, actionable guidance and co-ordinate and communicate important information across team.

- Ability to work effectively within a cross function multi-disciplinary functions matrix environment while ensuring that all procurement related tasks are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.

- Minimum level 8 degree in engineering, construction or a related subject matter or equivalent experience.
- Membership of Institute of Management Consulting, Association of Project Management Project Managers Institute (PMI) desirable
