A leading global trading and investment firm, with a strong presence across 20+ countries and a core technology hub in Dublin, is seeking a Front Office Application Support Engineer to join their fast-paced team. With over three decades of success in markets worldwide, the firm is known for blending cutting-edge technology with quantitative research to stay ahead in ultra-competitive environments.The Opportunity:This role sits at the core of trading operations, supporting and optimizing mission-critical, high-performance front office systems. You'll work closely with traders, quants, software engineers, and infrastructure teams, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across European trading platforms. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working in low-latency environments, and having a direct impact on business outcomes.Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary support contact for traders and quants, ensuring optimal performance of front office trading applications.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance application stability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage server environments across multiple European co-location sites.
  • Maintain and enhance batch scheduling systems and monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex application/system issues using log analysis and diagnostics tools.
  • Proactively implement monitoring and alerting solutions to preempt system outages.
  • Lead infrastructure and environment-related projects such as hardware refreshes and new software deployments.
Required Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in managing networked application systems (Windows Server 2012/2019, databases).
  • Scripting capabilities in Python, PowerShell, or Windows Batch.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities using logs, system tracing, and network diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with batch scheduling tools and monitoring systems (e.g., Splunk, Check_mk).
  • Technical degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
