KSN Energy, a leading Irish Energy Services company, is looking for Domestic Surveyors / Home Retrofitting Advisors who have a background in Irish construction methods to carry out surveys and/or BER assessments on their team.The Climate Action Plan aims to retrofit 500,000 homes to BER B2 standard by 2030 and the Domestic Surveyors / Home Retrofitting Advisors will be required to complete domestic surveys and in time BER assessments and Inspections for a nationwide project which will play an important role in the Climate Action Plan - the SEAI Warmer Homes Scheme.The work will involve both practical and theoretical elements and significant 'hands-on' skills will be required. The successful candidate should be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to work on a team and on own initiative essential.Responsibilities:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The completion of pre-works surveys for properties under the Warmer Homes Scheme.
The completion of BER assessments of existing dwellings in line with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland Code of Practice for Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessors.
Required to assess the quality of work completed to the property
Required to verify the quantity of materials installed in the property.

Full training will be provided on the processes.Essential Skills:A Level 6 QQI or equivalent in a construction trade;NFQ Level 6 Advanced/Higher Certificate in a subject similar to construction studies equating to 120 ECTS credits, where at least two of the topics listed below have been covered;

Architecture,
Architectural Technology,
Building Construction / Technology,
Building Design,
Building Energy Performance,
Building Services Engineering,
Building Surveying,
Civil Engineering,
Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering,
Quantity Surveying.

Or a Level 6 Advanced/Higher Certificate (or higher) in a discipline not construction-related and 2-years (full time) experience within a construction-related environment, demonstrating a basic understanding of domestic building systems (e.g. domestic building services, building fabric, heating systems, hot water, ventilation, lighting, building surveys, etc.).Please note that the qualifications listed above are the minimum required to register with SEAI as a BER assessor.Full, clean Driving LicenceDesirable Skills:The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and competencies:

The ability to accurately survey a property;
Excellent knowledge of the materials of construction and building services
A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good verbal, written and customer engagement skills
Flexibility and drive to complete work assignments to committed deadlines
Capacity to handle a high volume of workload and complete in an accurate manner

Ideally, candidates could already be a SEAI fully registered domestic BER Assessor, active and carrying out BERs within the last 12 months.Candidates who have completed the BER course and are eligible to register with SEAI will also be considered. In that regard, a BER qualification would be an advantage in this role.
