Overview
This role is responsible for shaping and delivering the sales strategy while actively contributing to revenue generation. You will lead from the front, developing the team, managing performance, and ensuring commercial targets are consistently achieved.
Responsibilities
- Set and deliver clear sales plans aligned to revenue and margin targets
- Identify opportunities for growth and act on market trends
- Build, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team
- Monitor individual and team performance, providing guidance and accountability
- Recruit and develop talent to strengthen the function
- Take an active role in selling, key account management, and deal closing
- Oversee pricing, pipeline management, and stock rotation
- Ensure consistent delivery against targets
- Resolve issues effectively, maintaining long-term client relationships
- Manage departmental profitability, including margins and stock investment
- Use data and reporting to guide decisions and improve performance
- Ensure all activities meet legal and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a professional, well-run retail environment
- Track KPIs and use insights to refine strategy and execution
- Report on performance and forecast future activity
- Stay informed on industry developments and emerging technologies
- Introduce new ideas and processes to enhance efficiency and results
Experience
- Strong background in commercial vehicle sales
- Experience managing or leading within a retail or dealer environment
- Consistent track record of hitting or exceeding targets
- Effective leader with the ability to motivate and challenge a team
- Commercially aware, with strong negotiation and closing ability
- Confident working with data to drive decisions
- Results-oriented and proactive
- Organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
