OverviewOur client, a leading international company in the energy technology sector, is seeking a highly analytical Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join their finance team in Limerick. The job is ostensibly remote, but some on-site attendance will be required.This is a strategic role that will see you partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, providing critical financial insights, robust analysis, and accurate forecasting to inform key decisions. You will play a pivotal part in supporting the company’s continued growth and operational excellence. It will suit someone who enjoys complex forecasting and enjoys building models by partnering with technical staff within the organisation to understand the way the company operates in a very in-depth manner.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver detailed KPI, competitor, and financial analyses to support decision-making and business performance.Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analyses, clearly outlining risks and opportunities.Prepare and present reports and presentations for senior leadership, boards, lenders, and investors.Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, influencing strategy through financial insight.Develop, manage, and continuously improve financial models and planning processes.Support budgeting, cash flow management, profitability forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.Provide ad-hoc analysis for investment opportunities, risk assessments, and business cases.Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies within FP&A activities.Support the monthly financial close process.Essential RequirementsQualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA), CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience in a dynamic finance environment.Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and modelling.Strong commercial acumen and ability to shape strategic initiatives.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.Track record of driving process improvement.Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including strong financial modelling ability.DesirablePrevious experience within energy, utilities, renewables, or technology sectors.Salary & BenefitsCompetitive salary (dependent on experience).Healthcare and pension scheme.Annual performance-related bonus.25 days annual leave.Death-in-service benefit.Professional development package: €3,000 training budget plus 10 training days per year.Opportunities to contribute to culture and engagement initiatives.The OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step into a senior financial planning role with exposure to senior leadership, investors, and decision-makers.
