Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all nursing services within the organisation
- Contribute at Executive level to the hospital’s strategic planning and overall operational performance
- Advise the CEO and Senior Executive Team on nursing, clinical care, and patient safety matters
- Drive excellence in patient safety, quality, and clinical outcomes, fostering a culture of high ethical standards
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing and engaged nursing workforce
- Champion innovation and promote a continuous quality improvement culture across the organisation
- Strengthen clinical governance frameworks, including audit, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Lead professional development, education, and continuous advancement of nursing practice
- Promote advanced practice roles, research, and leadership development, aligning with best practice clinical guidelines
- Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, and financial management of nursing services
- Implement systems, technologies, and reporting structures to support data-driven decision-making
- Foster strong multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes
- Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Significant senior nursing leadership experience (minimum 7–10 years) within an acute hospital setting of appropriate scale and complexity
- Proven ability to operate effectively at executive and strategic leadership level
- Postgraduate qualification in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated track record in clinical governance, quality improvement, and leading organisational change
- Excellent leadership, influencing, and change management capabilities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
