With a reputation for excellence, innovation, and a commitment to the highest industry standards, our client operates in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where safety, quality, and operational efficiency are paramount.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Stay informed of new health & safety legislation and maintain a working knowledge of developments within the industry.
- Lead the development of a proactive health & safety culture and continuous improvement projects across the site.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively, documenting and reporting findings to management.
- Carry out and update risk assessments, implement preventative measures, and monitor compliance.
- Develop safe systems of work and maintain risk trackers as required.
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and huddles alongside Line Managers and Supervisors.
- Investigate, record, and follow up on incidents, accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
- Maintain the site’s Emergency Plan & Procedures, ensuring key responders are trained and prepared.
- Oversee and monitor all third-party activities to ensure safe working practices.
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience, ideally within the food production industry.
- A third-level qualification in a related field.
- Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues and senior management.
- Drive, confidence, and resilience to see projects through to completion.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and innovative thinking.
- High levels of organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to keeping up to date with health & safety legislation and industry developments.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and integrity.
- Outstanding communication skills and a professional manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
