- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve commercial goals and KPIs.
- Conduct weekly task reviews and one-to-one performance meetings with Regional Managers.
- Manage direct reports and oversee any third-party agencies aligned to business development.
- Contribute to commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting at senior level.
- Drive commercial strategy to deliver sales growth and expand market presence.
- Identify and secure new commercial channels and strategic partnerships.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, holding full P&L responsibility.
- Negotiate commercial agreements to ensure sustainable, profitable returns.
- Broaden the range of products and services in response to customer needs and market demand.
- Lead the full tendering process, from proposal development to client presentation.
- Develop compelling value propositions tailored to strategic sectors.
- Proactively target and onboard new customers through solution-led sales approaches.
- Oversee pricing, channel strategies, and promotional planning.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to guide commercial decision-making.
- Analyse customer performance and adjust account priorities accordingly.
- Champion CRM system adoption and usage across the sales function.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Align with merchandising and sales support teams to ensure consistent market presence.
- Lead weekly sales meetings and quarterly updates to the Board.
- Represent the company at townhalls, industry events, and trade shows.
- 5+ years' experience in a commercial or business development role, ideally in the lubricants or a related B2B environment.
- A proven track record in delivering new revenue streams and driving commercial success.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on ability to execute in market and client development.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and deal-closing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with forecasting and budgeting capability.
- Analytical approach with the ability to translate data into action.
- Experience leading or influencing cross-functional commercial initiatives.
