Speech and Language Therapist - Leinster19.5 hours per week - Fixed term contract (2 years)Since first opening our doors in 2005, Autism Initiatives Ireland has provided specialist autism services for adults across our Residential, Respite, Day, and Community Support Services.Our vision statement voices our expectation that through supportive action people with autism can learn, develop and be enabled to have a sense of ownership over their own lives.Our aim is to positively work alongside autistic people, their families and carers in providing specialist individually tailored services for all to thrive from.In recent years we have successfully expanded our services throughout Dublin, Kildare, Wexford and Wicklow and continue to seek out opportunities where we can offer assistance and value.Given the significant role our team play in the lives of those we support our recruitment is focused on individuals willing to go the extra mile.Whether it's helping the people we support to live independently, enjoy a better quality of life, or play a more active role in their communities our team always strives to deliver the best service possible.The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role, including a detailed induction before joining the service.Essential skills:
  • Experience in working in adult disability services, particularly in the area of autism
  • Undertake competency assessments for the people we support
  • Be quality conscious and work to ensure high quality standards are maintained
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work alone and on own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a clinical team
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation

ScheduleThe successful candidate will be based in Tallaght, Co. Dublin but will be required to travel to our services across Leinster as part of the role. This role offers full flexibility taking into account that the needs of the services remain a priority.Benefits Include

Before you startEssential criteria and qualifications required:
  • Recognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Current registration with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Registration with IASLT desirable
  • Full, clean Irish driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance (minimum 2 years and aged 23 years or over for insurance purpose)
Permission to work in Ireland essential.
