The key requirements of this job are designing, planning, improving and implementing manufacturing processes and working with tight tolerances across a wide range of metals and polymers.Skillset
  • Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer in a high-precision manufacturing environment (medical device or aerospace preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as:
  • SolidCAM
  • HyperMill
  • Esprit (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of CNC precision machining in either milling/turning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with tight tolerances (±0.02mm or tighter) and complex geometries.
  • Hands-on knowledge of working with metals and engineering polymers.
  • Comfortable with GD&T, 3D modelling, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Key duties /responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning machines to produce precision medical device components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications to generate accurate and efficient tool paths.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and strategies for machining a variety of metals (e.g., stainless steel, titanium, aluminium) and polymers (e.g., PEEK, acetal, polycarbonate).
  • Collaborate with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues to maintain production flow.
  • Continuously review and improve machining strategies to reduce cycle times, improve surface finishes, and optimize tool life.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and other medical device quality standards.
