- Working with organisation leadership team to build our Cybersecurity Advisory business in UKIMEA and Europe;
Provision of technical governance in building a strong pipeline of future work in partnership with the leadership team;
Working with other regional cybersecurity advisory services leaders to manage the required resourcing to deliver on projects;
Working with other regional cybersecurity advisory services leaders and with the Skills Networks to build our global and regional capabilities, as well as managing recruitment campaigns to have the necessary skills available to deliver project work;
Ensuring that Arup can provide our clients in the built environment with state-of-the-art cybersecurity advisory services in the region to enhance the digital resilience of their businesses and organisations;
Building an engaging, empowering, and collaborative environment for cybersecurity and IT advisory service professionals in the region that is diverse and inclusive.This role will also provide thought leadership on the topics of cybersecurity best practice as part of Arup’s global objective of being the leading digital consultants in the built environment. The role will work with existing business leaders across regions to build business in the respective regions. Professional certification in the areas of cybersecurity and/or IT management is required.As the Cybersecurity Advisory Technical Leader at Arup, you will:Collaborate with organisation leadership to build and manage the Cybersecurity Advisory business in UKIMEA and Europe, identifying and developing new opportunities, and maintaining a strong pipeline of future projects.Work in partnership with Cybersecurity Advisory Operation Leader to oversee the Cybersecurity Advisory team, ensuring effective marketing and delivery of services in Ireland and supporting regional and global projects, while managing recruitment and resource allocation in collaboration with other regional leaders.Ensure the provision of state-of-the-art cybersecurity advisory services, including expertise in areas such as cloud technologies and digital twins, while contributing thought leadership on cybersecurity best practices aligned with global objectives.Does this role inspire you?We're looking for someone who is passionate about protecting critical infrastructure from cyber-attack and driving strategic impact for our clients. - Develop and execute Arup’s cybersecurity advisory practice's vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Align cybersecurity advisory offerings with market demands, regulatory requirements, and emerging industry trends.
- Provide thought leadership through white papers, speaking engagements, and client workshops.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them understand cybersecurity risks and adopt appropriate strategies.
- Lead the development of customised cybersecurity roadmaps aligned with clients’ business objectives.
- Ensure high client satisfaction by maintaining strong, transparent communication and addressing issues proactively.
- Understanding of the Built Environment - the threat landscape and the systems which may need hardening.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, IEC62443) and IT management standards.
- Expertise in secure design, delivery, and operation of digital technologies, including cloud platforms, IoT, and digital twins.
- Familiarity with risk management practices specific to the built environment (e.g., critical infrastructure security).
- Knowledge of how digital technologies integrate with the built environment, including smart buildings, sustainable infrastructure, and operational technologies (OT).
- Proven experience leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams and managing resource allocation across regional and global projects.
- Ability to create an inclusive and empowering environment that fosters collaboration and professional growth.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, IEC, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
- Degree in Cybersecurity, IT Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MSc or MBA) are a plus.
- Substantial experience in cybersecurity advisory roles, preferably in the built environment, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in managing large, complex projects with regional or global scope.
