We provide best-in-class consenting support, technical advisory, project management and engineering services from feasibility through to construction and operation.We are seeking a Graduate Planner to join our team at our company headquarters in Stradone, County Cavan. This is a unique opportunity to begin your career in the fast-growing renewable energy industry with a leading Irish consultancy.About the CandidateThe ideal candidate will have recently completed or be close to completing a third-level qualification in Planning (IPI or RTPI accredited). This is an ideal role for a motivated and organised individual with a keen interest in renewable energy, environmental policy and land-use planning.You will join a supportive and collaborative team environment, working on real-world wind and solar projects across Ireland and gaining exposure to entire project lifecycles.GES operates a flexible work environment with ability for all employees to work from home. However, it is a requirement of this role that the successful candidate can commit to working in person at our company headquarters in Cavan for at least the first six monthsAbout the role
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications for renewable energy projects
  • Support the compilation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and other planning documentation
  • Carry out desktop research, mapping and feasibility studies
  • Attend site visits and support stakeholder engagement activities
  • Work closely with senior planners and technical specialists across project teams
Desired skills
  • Have a third-level qualification in Planning (IPI or RTPI accredited) or be working towards obtaining one.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Irish planning policy and legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS or AutoCAD is a plus
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
  • Full clean driving license and access to own transport
