At Excel Recruitment we are currently recruiting a Procurement Specialist on behalf of a client, a leading national public transport provider.This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy procurement team, responsible for managing successful tendering and contract management of goods and services across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full tender process from start to finish in line with EU Directives and company policies
Source, negotiate and strategically select suppliers to ensure best practice procurement
Develop and implement contract management plans to track performance, ensure compliance, and prevent cost overruns
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external bodies
Ensure procurement decisions are transparent, fair, and fully compliant with public procurement legislation
Monitor budgets, track variances, and develop KPIs to assess supplier performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve cost savings and enhance efficiency

Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum Level 6 qualification in Public Procurement (essential)
At least 3 years’ experience in public procurement
Knowledge of tendering procedures including Frameworks, DPS, Competitive Dialogue, etc.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Excel & Word (SAP experience desirable)
Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills
Skilled in identifying opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement
