- Lead and document site audits, inspections, and statutory checks for equipment, work areas, and high-risk activities.
- Maintain all EHS documentation, permits, and compliance records to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Enforce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work systems.
- Monitor and supervise safe work practices, including working at heights, confined space entry, hot works, and handling of insulation materials.
- Identify, assess, and implement risk controls related to thermal insulation materials, including fiberglass, mineral wool, and refractory products.
- Prepare and manage client documentation, including Pre-Qualification Documents, RAMS, SDS, GA1s, and Method Statements.
- Maintain and update client safety portals (e.g., Highwire, mai™ Contractor).
- Lead preparations for Safe-T-Cert audits, ensuring the company maintains its A-Level grading.
- Develop and improve Safety Improvement Plans (SIP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Safe Practice Agreements (SPAs).
- Support enhancements of the EHA system within the mai™ Contractor Portal.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training for high-risk tasks.
- Maintain an up-to-date training matrix to ensure all staff certifications (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, IPAF, etc.) are current.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees and subcontractors.
- Liaise with client safety teams to ensure site-specific compliance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Produce regular safety performance reports, inspection logs, and KPIs for management review.
- Review and enhance safety policies, procedures, and standards to reflect best industry practices.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, or a related discipline (Honours degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years' on-site safety experience in construction, pharmaceutical, or industrial sectors.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications (required).
- Strong working knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to travel regularly to client sites across Dublin and the West of Ireland.
- Strong time management skills, including accurate completion of daily timesheets for project cost allocation.
