Permanent RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an Health and Safety Officer to join a leading international civil engineering and construction company renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across various sectors, including water, energy, and transportation. Due to continued growth and expansion, our client is seeking a proactive and motivated Junior Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone in the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks to employees and contractors as required
- Conduct regular environmental health & safety inspections across site operations
- Ensure crews adhere to all current legislative health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of statutory inspections for plant, fleet, equipment, and site activities
- Ensure training records for ongoing site activities are kept current and compliant
- Coordinate, prepare, and issue project-specific Health & Safety Plans as needed
- Support the implementation of the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety Statement and related procedures
- Manage and submit statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority, including incident and accident reports
- Attend and contribute to both internal and external Environmental Health & Safety meetings
- Verify that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is available and used correctly
- Ensure all subcontractor Safety Statements and RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) are available, current, and reviewed accordingly
- Assist site management with drafting, communicating, and reviewing RAMS
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
- Proficiency in IT systems and tools relevant to the role
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in health & safety
- Full, clean driving licence
