Resident Engineer - Large Infrastructure ProjectDublin, County Dublin | Excellent Day Rate & Benefits | Contract PositionAbout the OpportunityMorgan McKinley has partnered with a leading engineering consultancy to find an experienced Resident Engineer to join their team on a key phase of a large infrastructure project in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Civil Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering one of Ireland's most significant urban development schemes. The role is a site-based contract position, working as a key member of the client-side supervision team.Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Employer's Representative on site, ensuring the contractor's work aligns with all contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Supervise and manage all aspects of civil engineering works, including road reconstruction, cycleways, footpaths, public realm improvements, and utility diversions.
  • Administer Public Works Contracts, managing site records, progress reports, valuations, and contract correspondence.
  • Lead the on-site supervision team, coordinating with the contractor, design team, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Enforce compliance with all relevant Health and Safety and environmental legislation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and challenges as they arise.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, logging defects and monitoring remediation.
What We're Looking For
  • A Level 8 Honours Degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in urban road, highway, and public transport schemes.
  • Proven experience in a Resident Engineer or Senior Site Engineer role on major civil infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) and experience with Public Works Contracts (PWC).
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, with a valid SafePass card.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders in a busy urban environment.
  • Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland is highly desirable.
